Getting Help After Sexual Abuse

We understand that unplanned pregnancy and STI’s can result from a number of circumstances, including unwanted sexual contact. If you have experienced rape or sexual abuse of any kind, know that you are not alone and that there is support available to you.

If the abuse is very recent, start by finding a safe location away from the perpetrator. If you feel unsafe or believe you could be in immediate danger, call 911. Contact law enforcement immediately, and don’t bathe or clean/straighten up the location where the abuse occured.

If you are concerned about the potential for pregnancy or STI’s, the Women’s Clinic of Atlanta can provide you with testing and resources to ensure your continued safety and well being.

Know that this was not your fault. Reaching out for support is the first step toward bringing healing to your physical and emotional health. Our trained medical staff are available to provide compassionate support and services to assist you. Appointments are available by phone call or text.
